It was our plan to buy a live-aboard boat to cruise America's "Great Loop" - when we both are retired -  but, things changed.
What with the economy and changes to our retirement future we have decided to voyage by a different means - an RV.
We were looking at Motorhomes but decided that our moneys would go further by going another route. We first purchased an Interstate cargo trailer and converted it into a toyhauler. We pulled that on it's maiden voyage to Billings, MT with our Toyota 4 Runner. It worked out very well, but we decided that it was quite a bit for the 4 Runner.
We went looking for something else to tow with. What we found was a good deal on a 2004 Ford F-350, 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel, Lariat Crew Cab, 4X4 long bed pickup. That was on a Sunday. The next Tuesday we found, and purchased, a 2007 (brand new) 8 1/2' Alpenlite camper. We now have our 'leDragonfly'! It seems to be ideal for us (plus our two Maine Coon cats)...

Well ... that didn't last long! While in Florence, OR we saw and purchased a Forest River Sandpiper Sport 38' 5th wheel. I think we're there
now!                                >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
We have an on-going log, which  is an active link to the right! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
2011 - During our travels we found the home of our dreams in Meridian, Idaho. We sold our 5th wheel & truck (they served us very well) and finished moving in during the month of September. We are now only 45 minutes from Bob's kids & grandkids in Ontario, OR & Fruitland, ID. We have purchased an ATV (Polaris Sportsman/Touring 850 EPS), trading our trusty motorcycle in on the deal. We have joined a local ATV club - Boise ATV Trail Riders - and we are planning many rides with our new friends!
Our 'Log' is still active and we will be posting things in the future, so ... be sure to check back with us if you'd like. We plan on keeping on the internet via wifi whenever possible to update our web-site and the journal of our journeys!

April 10, 2015

It is with a very heavy heart that I announce that our beloved Georgy passed away from complications due to HCM, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. We miss him terribly.

                 It is now 2016

This month (January) the Boise RV Show was held at the fairgrounds. We went looking to replace a 2012 Lance 1274, a 'hybrid' with a drop-down, canvas covered rear queen sized bed. It was handy, but if it was cold outside the heater couldn't keep up, and if it was hot the air-conditioner couldn't keep up either. We purchased it in the spring of 2015 because that travelin' itch just wouldn't go away.
At the show we came across a Keystone Springdale 202. Nelson's RV in Boise gave us a good deal on our trade-in so we completed the deal.

We also found out that Shirley's son and his wife are pregnant. Soooooo, after much discussion it has been decided to sell our place here and move back to the Vancouver, WA area. We will rent an apartment while looking for or building a new home.

  June 6, 2016:

Well, the major portion of our move is completed! It took 2 U-Haul rentals (2 trips) plus an extra trip to relocate 'Nelson'. We are in an apartment in Vancouver now awaiting the arrival of Shirley's Grandchild some time around the middle of July or so. The house should close next week.

We have put down moneys on a new house to be built in a brand new sub-division in North East Vancouver, off Padden Parkway. We should be moved in after New Years, so they say!

  July 3, 2016:

The Grandchild arrived this morning and Shirley is as expected - bubbling over and giddy! All is well. A handsome boy.

We are Bob and Shirlee of Meridian, Idaho (formerly of Camas, Washington). This web-site is dedicated to our future adventures, including our Maine Coon cats Mozie & Georgy.
