One of the main reasons for moving here to Meridian, ID was the close proximity to riding ATV's, so . . . acquiring one was one of the first things we did when we were settled in. We were contemplating a side-by-side UTV, but after talking with people in the ATV club we had joined we found that they are restricted from a lot of trails due to their size. We then looked at 2-up ATV's and decided on the 2011 Polaris Sportsman/Touring 850 EPS.
We said goodbye to our motorcycle, as we were able to negotiate a very favorable trade-in. We really had enjoyed the bike, but with limited space and the fact that we had done most of what we wanted to do with it, she had to go. I also bought a winch and installed it.
Two days after our purchase, Bill Jones (founder of Boise ATV Trail Riders) invited us on a 'shakedown' ride. We put over 50 miles on her (Bella), riding as far south as the Snake River! What an incredible ride!
We have found that most of our motorcycle gear we have is useable on 'Bella', but we also found that we needed better protection from the dust, so we acquired some goggles and used some handkerchiefs (Doo-rags).
Here we are with 'Bella' for our first ride.

Down in the Snake River Canyon, & a bit dustier!
Here we are a couple of days later with Ron & Jan Dike, club members. Jan rolled her unit over on her about 15 minutes after this picture was taken and cracked a rib! Gotta be careful! This is up around Bogus Basin Ski area with Boise in the background. We're at around 6500 ft here.
